14:20 Making a better use of weather data to decarbonize shipping
The shipping industry is facing increasing threats from severe weather events as a result of global warming. Accurate weather data is becoming ever more essential to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of ships, cargo, and crew. As new regulations on carbon emissions are introduced to address climate change, the need for precise weather data and cutting-edge optimization algorithms is also growing. Spire’s advanced network of over 100 satellites not only monitors the global shipping fleet but also collects millions of earth intelligence signals to power its weather forecasting capabilities. With maritime weather data, the global maritime shipping industry can mitigate weather-related risks and optimise its routes to its lower carbon footprint.

14:40 How shipping companies can manage port calls more effectively
With an easy to use, platform independent workflow-based application, we register all events during a port call from arrival to departure. Rolf Nostdahl, Sales Manager, The Ship
Bio: Rolf Nostdahl has worked with digitization of the shipping industry for almost 40 years, from the early days of planned maintenance, through operation and management systems to fuel efficiency solutions. I truly believe that the digitization, collaboration, and automation of port call handling is the last real major digitization opportunity with the highest ROI available today.
15:00 How shipping companies can manage email in a better way
Critical to the global flow of shipments around the world is the sharing and action on key data and information between maritime companies. And our email inboxes are a treasure trove for holding this information. However, with charterers and other teams across shipping receiving hundreds, if not thousands, of emails a day, the data needed to inform key work decisions is buried. Cumbersome time is also spent manually filing emails, completing repetitive tasks, and cross-checking information against the details housed in other maritime tools. What more do we need to do?
